Gazprom CEO: Ukraine to need 19 billion cu m of gas in winter

Ukraine will need 19 billion cubic meters of gas in order to successfully live through the winter period, Russian state-controlled energy giant Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said Saturday on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

"For trouble-free winter, Ukraine needs to have 19 billion cubic meters of gas in its underground storage facilities," Miller said.

He said by winter Ukraine will only accumulate about 17 billion cu m.
