Statement Regarding Aminatou Haidar

The Train Foundation joins the many governments and public and private figures that have expressed deep concern over the plight of Aminatou Haidar, this year's winner of our Civil Courage Prize.

One can only deplore the illegal and abusive treatment of this wonderful woman, whose unswerving dedication to a nonviolent path is a noble inspiration.

We urge the authorities involved to act speedily to resolve this lamentable situation.
