New York, NY10012-1098Dear Judge Garzón:
Thank you for your letter of July 29th. I don't see any chance that I could persuade George Sores to take part in the panel discusión you are organizing for October 17th. The first reason is the date; he is scheduled to retum from China the previous day and has heavy commitments on this return. He would not want to add to those commitments. The second reason is that he limits his speeches to circumstances in which he feels especially knowledgeable about the topic he is to address and has something to say about it that he thinks is important. As I have never heard him say anything about the topic of economic relations between Spain and the American hemisphere, I don't think that is a matter that he knows a lot about and has a particular point of view that he wishes to articulate. As I am sure you will appreciate, he gets an immense number of requests to speak and turns down almost all of them. My interventions would not make a difference, in most circumstances.
Sorry not to be helpful. Best regards.
Sincerely,
Aryeh Neier
