Preliminary Objection to the jurisdiction of the Court

The Court to deliver its Judgment on Thursday 24 September 2015

THE HAGUE, 9 September 2015. On Thursday 24 September 2015, the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the principal judicial organ of the United Nations, will deliver its Judgment on the preliminary objection to the jurisdiction of the Court raised by the Republic of Chile in the case concerning the Obligation to Negotiate Access to the Pacific Ocean (Bolivia v. Chile).

A public sitting will take place at 3 p.m. (The Hague time) in the Great Hall of Justice at the Peace Palace in The Hague, the seat of the Court, during which the President of the Court, Judge Ronny Abraham, will read the Court's decision.

It is recalled that Judgments of the Court have binding force and are without appeal for the parties concerned.
