Pachter to arrive in Tel Aviv -Israeli media
Journalist Damián Pachter, the first to report the news of the death of AMIA special prosecutor Alberto Nisman last Sunday, is on his way to take refuge in Israel, after leaving the country fearing for his life, Israeli media reported.
Pachter, who is also an Israeli citizen, said to Argentinean media that he feared for his life. He boarded a Montevideo-bound Aerolíneas Argentinas flight at 6.58am yesterday from Jorge Newbery Metropolitan Airport, according to a Twitter message posted on the Government House official account.
The information on Pachter's flight to Montevideo was released by Aerolíneas Argentinas in a statement last night. "(The passenger) has booked and issued his return for February 2 on flight AR2395," it read.
But according to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, Pachter is no longer in Uruguay, but on his way to Tel Aviv, where he is expected to arrive later today. The journalist has written for this and other Israeli media about Nisman's death and the AMIA investigation.
